Javier Unamuno produced his first lathe in 1958 and since that time more than 8,000 machines have been sold all over the world.
As well as Europe, Unamuno machines are working in The Americas, Middle / Far East and North and West Africa.
Unamuno remains a strong family business today and all of our machines - from the most basic single spindle to the most complex machining centre capable of hard turning - are made in the Basque area of Spain.
Today UNAMUNO CNC is collaboration between the machine tool company Unamuno and the research and development company IK 4 Tekniker.
This collaboration allows UNAMUNO CNC to benefit from the capabilities of IK 4 Tekniker, an advanced research and development organisation - with extensive experience of machine tools. At the same time, IK4 Tekniker takes advantage of the long experience of Unamuno.
All our machines incorporate an innovative modular design that allows common elements to be used in different models - thus maintaining production costs and improving delivery times. The main elements of the machine have been designed in 3D on the basis of finite element analysis tools, as well as force and torque calculations. Repeatability and reliability are guarenteed thanks to our exhaustive testing programme.
We work with customers to enable our standard machines to meet the most specific and exacting demands. Some of our strong sectors are Auto, Aero and Energy companies where high productions to close tolerances are essential.

Should your company have a project and are unsure of the best machine - our engineers will recommend the most suitable model, and if necessary discuss with you how to achieve the best results by adaptation to your specific requirements.
We do have quite a number of "customized" machines in various industries around the world.
